Outdoor Things to do In Phoenix
Tourists from around the world flock to Phoenix seasonally to get a taste of the temperate winter weather. With somewhere around 299 sunny days a year, the Valley of the Sun is the best place to enjoy biking, hiking, gardens, parks, zoos, and much more! Take Camelback Mountain for example. This international attraction is one of the highest hikes in Phoenix, and it’s located right in the heart of Scottsdale. It provides one of the best views of the Valley and is far from the only trail you’ll be hiking on your outdoor getaway. There is also a large variety of family friendly things to do in Phoenix’s outdoors such as the Wildlife World Zoo and Desert Botanical Garden.
Cool and Comfortable Indoor Activities
Phoenix has some of the most beautiful weather the nation has to offer, but we’d be lying if we said it’s perfect all year round. The summer heat can reach temperatures upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43 degrees Celsius), so we don’t blame you for wanting to spend your downtime indoors. Luckily, there are a lot of things to do in Phoenix under the cover of shade and AC. Locals adore indoor sports like ice skating, bowling, paintball, and even go kart racing. K1 Speed is an Arrive and Drive electric kart indoor race track that is great for group events, or even just a friendly outting!
Annual Events for Every Season
The best way to experience the culture of another city is to attend community events. Phoenix is one of the largest entertainment hubs in the nation sporting a massive variety of stages, stadiums, and festivals. Every year international music sensations fill thousands of seats in our sports stadiums. On the other end of the spectrum local bands entertain smaller venues like the Crescent Ballroom and Rebel Lounge. If you’re looking for something a little more exclusive to the area, then check out one of our many annual events. The Renaissance festival offers a glimpse at life in the 14th century, and our autumn State Fair has a little something for everyone. Year round there is no shortage of amazing things to do in Phoenix!
