Greater Phoenix (also known as the Valley of the Sun) is America’s 6th largest city with a population that now exceeds 4 million. A rapidly expanding cosmopolitan city with buildings rising from the Sonoran Desert like the mountains that surround it … a metropolis reawakened after centuries of dormancy from its Hohokam inhabitants. The canals the Hohokam built centuries ago, that once crisscrossed the Valley were later reused for modern irrigation.
A major tourism destination (over 330 days of sunshine) offers annual visitors a plethora of fine dining, world-class shopping, legendary golfing, NASCAR and Indy Car racing along with every major professional sports franchise. Sports tourism continues to be a multi-billion dollar revenue generator for the city. Phoenix continues to host more and more sports championships from the WMPO (Waste Management Phoenix Open) to College Bowls, the NCAA Final Four, and of course the Super Bowl which will once again return to Glendale. AZ. in 2023.
Over the next 5 years, billions of dollars have been allocated to further expand Phoenix’s urban core by adding more hotels, living accommodations, dining, nightlife and great shopping.
